Grade to Grade Promotion Requirements for Middle School
To meet regular grade to grade promotion requirements, students must successfully pass the equivalent of four full-year courses, three of which must be from the areas of English/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.
Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school. See the school counselor about course recovery options.
* For students that are in the Limited English Proficiency (LEP) or Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs, please check with the administrator, placement specialist, and/or ESOL curriculum compliance teacher regarding requirements for promotion.
Intensive Reading Requirements
Any student that receives a Level 1 or Level 2 on the FAST ELA test will be placed in an intensive reading class. Each school may differ on the structure of its reading classes, so check with the administrator regarding placement of Level 1 and Level 2 students.
Promotion to High School
To be promoted from eighth grade involves the successful completion of three years of English, math, science and social studies. Failed courses must be recovered before exiting middle school. See the school counselor about course recovery options.

Late Work Policy
6th Grade
Students in the 6th grade will have five school days from the date an assignment is due to submit it. After five school days, the teacher will not accept the assignment.
7th Grade
Students in the 7th grade will have three school days from the date an assignment is due to submit it. After three school days, the teacher will not accept the assignment.
8th Grade
Students in the 8th grade must submit their assignments on time to receive credit. Teachers of 8th grade students will not accept late work.
