Bridgewater Middle School History

Bridgewater Middle School was designed as a relief school for Lakeview Middle School and Gotha Middle School. Located in Winter Garden, Bridgewater opened in August of 2007 serving 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Mrs. Debra Lucas was the first principal and served until September 2009.  Ms. Amy Klaber is now the proud principal of Bridgewater Middle School.

The campus consists of 6 main buildings. The administration building, media center, gymnasium, performing arts building, cafeteria and a 2 story classroom building surround a spacious inviting courtyard.  The campus also contains 49 learning cottages. Athletic facilities include a softball field, soccer field, track, badminton courts and basketball courts. Due to the school's location in a rapidly growing rural area and the opening of Bridgewater Crossings Blvd, the percentage of students who either walk or ride their bicycles has increase from less than 1% in previous years to approximately 20% this year.

Students are encouraged to become involved in extracurricular activities such as athletics (Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball and Track), the YMCA, intramural sports, National Junior Honors Society and Student Council.

Parents and community members are encouraged to become ADDitions volunteers and Partners-in-Education. Our PTSA and SAC continue to provide input to assist our administration, faculty and staff with making the best decisions for our students’ growth and success.
