School Volunteers are individuals who perform assigned duties that support Orange County Public Schools students and staff without the expectation of compensation. Duties assigned to school volunteers shall be consistent with Florida statutes and State Board of Education rules. It is the policy of the School Board of Orange County that there will be no discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, creed, marital status, sex, religion, age or disability.
This program is a component of the ADDitions program. School volunteers work at the school of their choice and participate in activities that match their interests, such as:
- assisting teachers in the classroom
- designing bulletin boards
- working with students
- serving as mentors or tutors
- helping in the art classes, the media center or the office
- serving as chaperones on field trips, etc.
OCPS students may also serve as ADDitions outside of their school curriculum.
Who Should Register as an ADDitions School Volunteer?
Any person, including OCPS employees, who serve as a volunteer and works directly with students on campus or has access to students during a school sponsored event, should complete an OCPS volunteer application.
To become a school volunteer you must complete the online application and update it yearly. You must click the "Add" button to volunteer for multiple schools when filling out online form.
After Completing the online application you must print and fill out the Chaperone Application and return it to Bridgewater Middle Schools' Coordinator.
